The programme
What is Road2BAS?
A supervision programme for bookkeepers who want to register as BAS agents. You build relevant experience under the supervision and control of a registered BAS agent, Riley Redford, with your hours recorded for your TPB application.
Who is it for?
Bookkeepers with foundational knowledge who need supervised experience and guidance to register. You'll need your own clients, and ideally you've completed or are completing a Cert IV and a Board-approved GST/BAS course.
Do I need my own clients?
Yes. Road2BAS supervises the BAS work you do for your clients. Riley no longer takes on clients directly, so new enquiries are passed to Road2BAS bookkeepers when they come in, but that's occasional and never guaranteed.
How does supervision happen?
Riley reviews all your BAS-related workings and meets with you regularly, in person, by phone or by video. Basic includes a 30-minute weekly catch-up, Advanced a weekly hour, and Premium ad-hoc catch-ups on request.
How does the development plan work?
At the start we look at your qualifications, clients and existing experience, then set out a plan focused on your gaps and goals so your hours build towards registration.
Pricing
How much does it cost?
Basic is $155 a month (up to 5 clients), Advanced $275 (up to 10) and Premium $499 (up to 20). Each plan is also 30% of your BAS-related revenues. Compare plans.
What does the 30% apply to?
Only revenue from BAS-related work. If you invoice $1,000 of BAS work in a month, $300 is the revenue share. The pricing calculator shows a full month.
Is there an upfront fee?
No. There's no upfront course fee, just the monthly plan fee and the revenue share.
Registration
How many hours do I need?
1,400 hours of relevant experience in the past 4 years, or 1,000 hours if you're a voting member of a recognised BAS or tax agent association. See the full requirements.
Do you guarantee registration?
No, and nobody can. The Tax Practitioners Board decides every application. We make sure your experience is genuinely supervised and well documented.
What support is there if the TPB has questions?
Your supervised hours and reviews are on record, and Riley provides your experience statement and can help you respond to questions about your experience.
