Your route to 1,400 hours

Or 1,000 with voting membership of a recognised association. Every supervised hour logged.

What you get on the way

Until you're registered, the BAS services you provide for a fee have to be supervised and controlled by a registered agent. That's what Road2BAS is.

01

Every BAS reviewed

All your BAS-related workings are checked by a registered BAS agent before lodgement, with feedback you can learn from.

02

Hours on record

Detailed records of your supervised hours, kept to support your experience statement and registration application.

03

A plan for you

A development plan built around your clients, your gaps and your goals, so you're working towards registration, not just logging time.

04

Meet how you like

Weekly catch-ups in person, by phone or by video, whichever suits your location and schedule.

The route, in four steps

The TPB asks for a Cert IV in bookkeeping or accounting, a Board-approved GST/BAS course, and relevant experience under supervision. You bring the first two; we supervise the third.

  1. 1
    Week one

    Plan your route

We look at your qualifications, your current clients and any relevant experience you already have, then set out a development plan.

  2. 2
    Every week

    Work under supervision

You do the BAS work for your clients. Riley reviews your workings, catches issues before lodgement and meets with you regularly.

  3. 3
    Ongoing

    Log the hours

Your supervised hours are recorded as you go, so there's no scramble to reconstruct them at the end.

  4. 4
    1,000 or 1,400 hours

    Apply to the TPB

Once you have the hours, you apply with an experience statement from your supervising agent. The Board makes the decision; we make sure your evidence is in order.

Riley no longer takes on clients directly, so new enquiries are passed to Road2BAS bookkeepers when they come in. It's a bonus, not a promise: you'll need your own clients.
